Iowa Elementary has now joined many other schools in using the Positive Behavioral Support program to encourage positive behaviors in students by "catching" them behaving appropriately and rewarding them for their good choices.  Since the school mascot of Iowa is the Bear, the staff created an outline of expectations based on the word "BEARS" and had posters made explaining the program.  BEARS Poster

You will  see these posters displayed prominently throughout the school to help reinforce the PBS program.  Here are the expectations for all settings in the school  all settings bear poster  and the classroom expectations  classroombears poster.  If you have any questions about PBS, please contact Ms. Grace Choi at Iowa Elementary.

Watch below for the latest Bear Bucks winners!  These students earned Bear Bucks and had their name drawn to win the privilege of wearing a special PBS Bear Buck Winner T-shirt all day at school and then turning it in for a special prize at the end of that day.

We had our first quarterly PBS celebration on Thursday, December 17th from 9:15-9:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.  The PBS Committee served pancakes, fruits and juice to our PBS winners.  Follwing the breakfast, the students decorated sugar cookies.  One boy and one girl were  selected from each classroom's previous PBS winners from the entire first quarter.  Congratulation to each of our 1st quarter PBS winners!
