Iowa's Attendance Goal

In the graphic below, chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 18 days of school in one year.  That is equal to two days per month.  That may not seem like a lot, but it has a significant impact on a child’s progress in school.  When a student is absent, even for one day, he/she has lost an opportunity to learn and must work harder to learn what he/she missed on the day of absence.

After speaking with our leadership team, we have made a goal this year to have an overall daily attendance average of 93%.  We are currently just below 90% and our attendance for this week decreased by half a percent from the previous week.  Please help us, and your child, by having them attend school every day.  If you have any questions regarding school attendance, please reach out.

Thanks,

Iowa
