Important Information Regarding Dismissal

Dear Families,

On Thursday and Friday, we will follow a Controlled Release protocol.

This means the following:
1. Students who walk will be monitored by staff until they are out of sight.
2. Bus riders will be escorted to the bus by staff members who will remain by buses until they depart.
3. Adults who pick up students will need to walk to the teacher and check-in before the student will be released to them. Please pick up your child at their usual location. They will not be coming through the front door. If you have someone come to pick up your child who the teacher does not know, please reach out to the teacher and give the name of the person who is picking them up and have that person present identification for verification purposes.

Thank you so much for all you help and patience throughout the difficult situation we have all experienced this week. Please feel free to reach out to us at Iowa if you have any questions.

Here is some tips for parents and educators on how to speak with children about violence. If you have any questions and/or concerns please reach out to Iowa's school counselor Mrs. Tonk: gntonk@aurorak12.org
